About us
Set in the picturesque village of Marston within the heart of the Lincolnshire Countryside, the Thorold was refurbished and re-opened in late 2019.
Our community-owned pub, restaurant, village shop and B&B, is easy to reach by foot, car and pedal-power situated just 7 miles from Grantham, 10 miles from Newark, conveniently close to the A1 and positioned on the Viking Way.

Our Story
With a collective of local expertise, from Interior Designers, Builders, Architects, Building Control, Trades Men and Women, and a whole host of other professions, all pulling together, The Thorold has become a comfortable, modern, yet traditional,
cosy, warm and welcoming space.
You and the family can enjoy a drink, something to eat or pop in to our relaxed environment and meet new people.

We are also a dog friendly pub, so bring along your four legged friends.

Our Vision
Our community wanted to create a welcoming space at the heart of the village. The Thorold acts as hub for the villages of Hougham and Marston, providing a cosy and inviting space that welcomes villagers and visitors alike.
